Bring the old system forward without betting the business
Old systems fail slowly and then suddenly. We recover what the system actually does, separate the parts that must change from the parts that can stay, and modernize in stages with rollback points at every step.
When this is the right call
The person who knew it left
The rules live in code, in old reports and in the heads of two people near retirement. We write them down before they go.
An end of support date
A database, framework or operating system loses patches. You need a plan with dates, not a warning.
A rewrite quote you cannot judge
One supplier says replace everything. We price options, including the cheaper ones.
Changes take months
Every small change needs a specialist. Modern tooling and tests make the next change ordinary.
How the work is delivered
Recover the rules
Business rules pulled from code, reports and interviews, written in plain language your team can confirm.
- Rule inventory
- Data dictionary
- Screens that would break if removed
Choose the pattern
Rehost, refactor, replace or retire, per component, with the cost of each.
- Options with prices
- Risk per option
- Recommended path
Strangler delivery
New pieces run beside the old system, and traffic moves over when the new piece has proven itself.
- Parallel running
- Feature flags
- Rollback at every step
Prove it works
Automated tests compare old and new behavior on real records before cutover.
- Replay of real traffic
- Record count and value checks
- Cutover checklist

Questions
Do you always recommend a rewrite?
No. Most systems are a mix: a small part that must be replaced and a lot that can stay with better monitoring, backups and tests. We price both.
Can you read old languages?
We work in COBOL, RPG, classic ASP, PHP, Java, .NET and Delphi. If a niche specialist is needed, we say so in the first week and help you find one.
How much access do you need?
Read access to code and schema, plus time with the people who run the system. We make no production changes in the sprint.
What if we decide to wait?
You keep the risk list and the plan. It is useful for budgeting even if work starts next year.
Can you run the old and new system together?
Yes, that is the strangler approach. Traffic moves piece by piece, and each piece can roll back.
